On June 8th we announced our plans to once again honor God’s glory through the Judgement House outreach ministry. The current (but tentative) calendar of events is as follows:
JULY 20 (Sunday)
· Congregational meeting in the worship center at 6pm. This evening includes prayer and worship time for this year’s outreach event, a video presentation of the Web-of-Lies script, a look at the characters involved and the rooms we will use this year, an explanation of each committee and opportunities for you to serve, a time for questions and answers, and a time for you to sign onto one of the teams.
OCTOBER 19 (Sunday)
· Cast and workers only dress rehearsal performance in the Worship Center at 5:30pm. Last year this was a very moving time for all involved and it offers the only opportunity for the work team to see the entire performance and it offers the only opportunity for the work team to see the entire performance at one time. We will be doing the presentation twice so all actors will have a chance to perform.
OCTOBER 23 (Thursday)
· Grace Community Church Family only 2008 Judgement House presentation. This is the real thing and will require all attendees to register and move through the process like any other evening.
OCTOBER 24 (Friday), OCTOBER 25 (Saturday), OCTOBER 26 (Sunday)
· Judgement house performance’s open to the public. Please note we are holding a Sunday performance this year in order to accommodate multiple requests from last year.
OCTOBER 30 (Thursday), OCTOBER 31 (Friday), NOVEMBER 1 (Saturday)
· Judgement house performance’s open to the public.
NOVEMBER 2 (Sunday)
· Teardown and celebration time. Last year we were able to teardown in about a two hour period and this year should be similar. We will have a time of reflection, worship, and sharing after the teardown is complete for everyone on the Judgement House team and all in the congregation (time to be announced).
We have consolidated all of our activities this year within a 15 day period (October 19-November 2). Last year Judgement House activities went on for a 30 day period.
What’s Happened So Far?
· We have formed the executive team consisting of Joe Freud and Janelle Paden (director and co-director), Shawn Sullivan (finance director), and Della Loewen (prayer director).
· We have selected our script; Web-of-Lies. Make sure you come and see this powerful presentation on July 20.
· Contacted last year’s committee heads with an invitation to participate this year.
· Set the calendar.
What should you do right now?
· The single most important thing that everyone can do right now is begin to pray for: 1. The lost that attend and hear the good news of Jesus Christ. 2. The role that you should play in this year’s outreach. 3. For the protection from the evil one that will work hard to upset our efforts.
As I write this I cannot express to all of you how thankful I am to be a part of a church body that will embrace and sacrifice for the kingdom of God.
All of us know how much effort it was last year to complete this mission and this year will be no different.
All of us that witnessed or participated in last year’s event know the power of this ministry and know the true joy that came from being obedient to God’s call last year.
So many of you have already simply looked at me and said “I’m in.” Thank you.
For those of you that are new to Grace or did not have a chance to participate last year, please make sure that you attend the meeting on July 20 and see firsthand the energy and excitement.
