Women’s Bible Studies ~ Heart - To - Heart...by Becky Olsen
It’s no secret that we women highly value relationships. Not just in the family, but with co-workers and volunteers, and especially with sisters in Christ. For us there is almost nothing like a great heart-to-heart conversation with another woman or women. The connection is deep, at the heart level.
Women’s Bible Studies offered at GCC provide a setting where women can do just that: We can be real with one another, confess our sins and weaknesses, find forgiveness and acceptance, laugh, cry, and pray together. As we share together in the presence of the Lord, we experience the fruit of the Spirit and heartfelt encouragement. One woman says, "I need a small group of women to belong to, to connect with, be challenged by. I want to know God better and it helps me get into the Word more than I would on my own."
Others have said:
Y "Bible study has taught me about God’s sufficiency and greatness. It helps me minimize my focus on me and the ‘stuff’ of my life."
Y "It is so encouraging to know we are striving to be godly women in our homes."
Y "I enjoy meeting with other moms and sharing ideas about raising our kids. It makes me a better mom!"
Y "I’ve really enjoyed our Bible study for three years now. I think my favorite was on marriage. Not because I had marriage problems, but it made my walk with Christ stronger, which made me a better wife…I loved it!”
So you see, our hearts and lives are changed as we grow toward maturity…stirring one another to love and good deeds.
GCC offers several daytime and evening studies. Each group tends to take on a character of its own, but everyone fits perfectly somewhere. The awesome God who has drawn us to His heart also knits our hearts together, bringing unity amidst great diversity at times.
